Part time work, JSA and back month

    Hi folks,

i have a query regarding part time work and JSA. Been getting JSA for about a year, and just been offered a great job 2 days a week [14 hours] for a year, which i'm thrilled about.

First off, I am taking this job regardless of whether i can continue to get JSA or not. I'm so desperate to work again and be contributing. However, I understand that I may be entitled to JSA as it is just part time, although long term.
Q1. What forms does my employer need to sign, and who needs to sign them? How quickly will reduction come into effect?
Q1a. Do i need to go to social welfare office every week? Even though my hours are set? The queues in aungier street can be unreal!

Q2. Is there anything that can be done about back month? I am anxious to do everything right, i.e. go off full time JSA as soon as possible, but after a meeting with my new employers I realise that I will have to work back month. So say I am starting this week. I won;t get paid for it til end of November. So if i go to reduced JSA, I will have very little to exist on for 2 months.

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated :)

Q 1.You need to get the forms for your employer to fill at your local welfare office. They are not available online.

Q 1a.You will get a X and O form to fill in and sign every week this form must be returned to your local office every week, post it in the letter box.ect (if the form is late/missing your payment will be affected)

Q 2.Your local CWO is the only one to ask for a loan to tide you over till you get payed.
