i got a new video sender from argos.I,m setting it up at 3pm for a friend.
I,D like to know what mode i use for skybox ,during setup,
Do i knock off the sky reciever completely, before connecting the scart transmitter cable.Or do i just put it into standby mode.
    see here http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5347926.htm
i dont want to overload the transmitter circuits when i plug it in to sky reciever tv out scart socket.
DO i switch on sky box, after i have scart connected to the skybox, then switch on the transmitter unit.

The power level is very low and there's no danger of overloading the input.

Just be aware these can be interfered with by Wifi. Even if the person who's house it is in does not have internet any neightbours within 700-1000M can cause interference any time.

Sometimes changing channel (if it has that option) can help, but there are dozens of wifi signals in every estate. For reliable long term signal it's generally best to run a cable which all professional installers do.

How did you get on today?

NO NET ACESS there, in apartment, installed it,followed the info ,instructions in the manual, exactly .1ST FEW times i plugged reciever into tv2 ,sound ok, no video.
i then tried it in tv 1 ,worked fine.
now i have it setup, on channel four, transmit, recieve, in bedroom
on tv2.20ft from sky box, sound perfect,
video signal 98 per cent quality ,very good picture.
Only thing i find awkward, i have it in tv press , reciever in front of tv.
IF I knock off power via button at rear of reciever,
its very hard not to move the reciever,
if i move the reciever ,picture is degraded, detuned ,
scart cable too short, so it ends up very close to front of tv.
2 neighbours have wifi, but i can see no interference, even though its a 2.5ghz unit.
i,m not sure ,IS it safe to leave reciever unit on all the time.
IS IT ok,to knock it off via mains socket ,
without using on,/ off built into reciever unit.

will it overheat if left on 24/7.

overall i,d strongly recommend this to anyone,
as long as you dont have a wifi wireless router.
ITS easy to setup, tuning in a good quality ,requires moving the reciever unit ,slightly left or right.

It should not overheat if left on all the time as long as it is not covered. It would be best to turn it off at the mains supply as then it will consume no power.
