Last Minute Dresses...

So for a couple of reasons, I have left it really late to get a wedding dress. I'm getting married in... 6.5 weeks.
I was in Barnardos bridal today and they had a small enough selection in my size, and none that suited me/ fit my boobs. Also tried Monsoon dresses and same story.
Any recommendations for shops in Dublin/ surrounds that are either having a sample sale or keep a big enough selection of good second hand/ vintage dresses.
I'm away for a week tomorrow, but hoping to try Oxfam in the City Centre as well as Dirty Fabulous... anywhere else??
    Thanks!

Look for The Salvage Shop on Facebook.
She had the most amazing dresses from a wedding shop that closed down.
    They are based in Newcastle.

You could try Memories Bridal Boutique on Parliament Street, they have a mixture of second-hand, vintage and new but everything there is ready to take away :)

the bridal outlet place in Baldoyle carry a large stock on hand and they are having a clearance sale at the moment, so you should have a good chance of getting something off the rack so to speak.http://www.thebridaloutlet.ie/

Other than that, actually phone around a few places and see if they have any samples or off the rack (i.e not pre-ordere) dresses on sale in your size. If they do, make a list and head around to a few of them.

I got my dress in Feb for my wedding in May. When I went shopping I thought I had loads of time, because I had been living abroad where a wedding dress can be ordered in or made to order within a fortnight! I was shocked to find out that most shops require a 12-16 week lead time on their orders! I was lucky though - The Bridal Corner in Harts Corner had a few sample dresses on sale. It just so happened that the dress I fell in love with was one of their samples, on sale at less than 50% of the original price and in my size. Result! So you can get lucky. And some dresses can be ordered in within 3-4 weeks (although that still leaves it a bit tight as you only have 2.5 weeks buffer time!).

The Bridal Outlet in Baldoyle has loads of dresses. I recently went shopping with someone who had just over 2 weeks until the wedding and she found a beautiful dress there.

Congrats on the wedding. I third that on the bridal outlet in Baldoyle. My SIL went there and she got a beautiful dress off the peg. If you go make sure to go on a Tuesday or Wednesday mid-morning as it will be nice and quiet, it's supposed to be histrionic mayhem at the weekends.

I can totally recommend Memories. I was there last Saturday and Karl was so helpful and he really knows what he is talking about. Much better than some of the more well known bridal shops in Dublin I went to and really good selection of dresses too

Thanks so much for the replies!
My cousin recommended the Baldoyle shop as well so I'm definitely going to try there as well as Memories.

Don't limit yourself to your size. You can buy a dress up to two or three sizes bigger and then get a good atlyerations service to get it tailored to your size!!! Gives u more options...

    I found a dress!
I cannot recommend Berketex in Jervis shopping centre highly enough. The girls there were just amazing. They spend 3 hours with me, and were just so lovely!!
I'm a bit nervous that I didn't really look around more. I'm not sure if I should try get into Memories and out to Baldoyle just in case?! Eek!!

If you love love love the dress in Berketex then I would say don't muddle your brain with other options. However if you have a niggling doubt, go to the other two. That way you will either find a dress you love more or you will be certain on the first one.
Some people have that 'just know' moment - I did. Other's don't. But once you have made your decision don't worry about it or second guess it, otherwise you will drive yourself mad!

    Congrats!
