I'd say it will make around 15-17c in arrabawn. It's running under this yr do fingers cross no super levy this year

on a side note who do dunnes stores get their own brand milk from? They have an offer at the minute where 2 x 3litre containers of milk is €4  it has the produced in ireland logo on it

So people are still willing to pay 15-17cent for quota for basically 2 years supply??? That is basically an extra 8.5c/l per year onto the cost of producing that milk. Some of these new dairy entrants must have money burning holes in their pockets if they can afford that plus the cost of expansion etc!

One or two years at 20&23cent won't be long sorting that out!

I bid 21 cent for 20000 ltrs but think releastically it will make around 17 cent.Bid bit over to take into account of the 40% rule.Might seem a bit excessive but im milking around the 60 mark and have potential to go to 100(parlour and sheds are in place). This year i sold 15 cows which i now could of held on to (thought quota was going to be an issue this year). Also still no decision from arrabawn as to whats happening post 2015.i think quota owned at end march 2015 will count for something.Every situation is different but i will still buy whatever quota the acoounts will allow me till 2015.Its a tax allowable expense

the only things about it if u have a smaller quota u will get more flexi milk and this could bring u upto 77000 gallons if there is enough around. Anyway lads reading on the farm independent yesterday that glanbia are upping their price by 2pc inc vat(about time), Monaghans supplies were down 12% on september last year(good news for expanding small quota holders:D).
