Just wondering has anybody used these, they seem a great little receiver to upgrade an old TV. Well hidden, connects straight to a scart socket. Only thing im wondering, will RTE 2 HD still display via the scart output? I notice from an Irish supplier selling a similar product (Skystar), that RTE 2 wont display via scart?

If the unit decodes MPEG4, which it appears to do, you should be fine. The signals will all will be SD on the SCART connector, and they will be upscaled to HD on the HDMI connector. RTE 2 will be HD on the HDMI but SD on the SCART.

I doubt if they are MHEG5 capable, but you know that.

Cheers for that, these yokes seem handy as i want them to put onto TV's that are wall mounted. Easier than trying to put up a box on a shelf next to a TV. There are some Blue line scart receivers on the market similar to this ferguson, but after doing a search they seem to suffer a few problems like audio sync issues and power supply issues. Ferguson is a good name brand.

Depends on the chipset they use - some chipsets are bad others are very good.

Try to make sure you get a 13 amp plug on the end.

yes I bought the cheaper version form satkelps and it came with a WONKY power supply, ie 2 pin and had to use a shaver adaptor so 3.50 more. And I forgot that the instructions would be in POLISH.
