Milking parlour dimensions

Guys I'm wondering has anyone put in a parlour with dimensions in-between 2foot 2" which is side by side and 2 foot 6" which is your standard herringbone. I'm asking as my shed is too narrow for a full 2 foot 2 or side by side but I'd like to get as near it a possible with bales if possible.

    Any thoughts? Thanks

Internal dimensions 5.21 meters im willing to work with a narrow pit, i think they are more efficient anyway.

How did your parlour work out after?

For 2'6" centers 6'3" to 6'6" from wall to edge of pit so your pit would be 4-4.5' wide. Did you manage go below 2'6" centers and put bails in?

Currently looking at secondhand milking parlour with 2 foot 2"centres with head locking stalls ,i never milked in this type of parlour.
What would they be like for cow control, or any other problems.

They are supposedly great for cow control, very easy to put on clusters etc. However two big issues I've heard, they slow down throughput, the cow has to turn 90degs to get out, and then training heifers can be a pain as it's a lottery as to which way she will face 1st few times entering the parlour. However I've never milked in one, the 2nd hand one you are viewing, is it still in working order, go see it working yourself, otherwise go milk in a few 2ft2s to get the feel for them. You really can't go ever view too many parlours, I've seen plenty now over the last 6 months and still learning about what best will suit my setup.
