€188 is the basic rate for myself , but we have 3 children too and i'm means tested because she takes home 300 average per week

    Income of 300 minus 60 = 240 get 60% of 240 = 144 this is your weekly means from herself's wages.

The max you can get as as family is 401 aprox, means of 144, payment of 255 I think

Your means aren't calculated on the take home pay though. It is gross pay - superannuation - employees PRSI - union- pension levy.
PAYE or USC are not allowed for in the means test.

if its jsb your on then its not means tested and if your partner is not claiming fis you will get 188+29.80 each for the 3 children you might get something for your partner too, but im not sure how much.

if your claiming jsa that's different as its means tested my partner was earning 320 last year and we were claiming fis and we have 3 children. I got a jsa payment of 150 per week so that will give you an idea

Info re jsb is incorrect. OP will get €188 but the ada and cda payment depends on the amount their partner is earning.
