Pub for nervous cross-dresser

    Hi all,
I'm looking for a pub i can go to dressed up, but as i'm very nervous about it, i'm looking for somewhere that's very 'forgiving'

i'm not sure if i pass or not, so i want somewhere that it's OK either way, and won't end up having people staring, or worse.

I'm not sure about the George, or Panti bar as i'm not really the drag-queen type - i just want to dress up - something casual- and go out for a drink, but not really sure where else there is.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

The Gemini club and T.H., in Dublin, caters for crossdressers/transvestites. Not sure where they're located though.

Pantibar would be grand, drag is for the stage :)

I've seen a fair number of cross dressers having a drink in Pantibar over the years and from casual observation, they seem to get on fine.

Hi Alice, so far I've been to The Church, Turks Head, Lafayette and even went to The Odessa Claub last weekend. Nobody said much at all. Obviously they took a second look, but no problems at all. But I was with at least one other crossdresser. People are moe forgiving now, and of course your money is as good as anyone elses ! Once you've done it once it get's easier and a lot more fun, trust me :)

TH is really good for first timers but its a little expencive and kinda quiet but you'll usally find a few other nervous girls in there and its great for a quiet night out.for some people who still dont know where it is its no.10 on harcourt street.go up and ring the buzzer and you'll get directions inside where to go when your in.Saturday is the best night to go but you can go friday as well.

    I saw TH alright.

My original plan was to just head into any old (but not too judgmental) pub and try to blend in, but being the big scaredy-cat that i am, i might head in to TH a couple of times to build my courage up.

Thanks all for the replies....... now...... just to get out there an do it!

I'd go with ya the first time but I moved to galway last month :( try get a mate from the trans boards to go with you.you dont need a lot of courage in TH as everyone is pritty cool and they have little room which you can change into girls clothes so you dont even have to come all dolled up

Slightly ot but that's really cool that they have a room you can change in. I'd imagine that would be useful for your first few times. :)

Looks like the website is down and has been for a while - but it seems from a another thread (Home/Soc/Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender/List of LGBT bars/clubs/nights in Dublin) as if it's still on the go.

I can't find anything definitive about it though, and it's Facebook page looks a bit flaky......

Still not really sure where's best, and still haven't made it out the door yet
