You need to notify them at renewal, but not now. If its the only 2 points you have then I cant see it making a blind bit of difference.

ok so i only renewed it last month so it'll be ok if I say nothing till next year

You need to review your policy document and see what it says. While it must as a minimum be disclosed at renewal, the particular company might require earlier disclosure - they shoud not be able to deny Cover or adjust your premium mid policy.

Just be aware that the points as of yet, are not on your licence. Once you pay, you will then receive a letter stating what date they are applied from. So, technically, you are still point-less.

As far as I know it takes quite a while for the points to actualy go onto your licence..after I got my 2nd speeding fine (went from 2 to 4 points) I had to send my licence off to that Shannon address..presumably for them to record my point or some ****e. I found it strange that it was only when I got my second fine that I had to send my licence away..But from the time you get your letter in the post it takes a good while until the points are applied to the locence I'd say..

I wouldn't mind i was only overtaking someone who had slowed down from 90+mph to under 60 in a matter of seconds who obviously copped the car and was just blipping past them rather than braking hard, common sense hardly comes into it though.

Funny thing is the car that slowed then tore past me at 100+mph half a mile down the road as i stuck to 120km and under feeling sadface (sigh)

if the gardai were smart here they would make the van mucky and "borrow" the lads flashing amber lights to put on top of the van.

would be an absolute gold mine then.

I know even myself driving that road everyday tos very hard to comprehend doing 60kph when you'd normally do 100kph and then 120 further up.

doing that speed makes me feel silly when people are what seem to be flying by.

    • trick or deceive (someone), esp. by inducing them to commit a crime in order to secure their prosecution.

MPH so it was pretty rapid decelleration 150-under 100kmph, hence the overtaking as i was watching the road and not the laybys :p

What's catching people speeding along here? Is there a gatso or what? Been by it a few times since the roadworks are there.
