The light illuminating the temperate display on my mondeo isn't working and I want to change it, purely because it's annoying to look at one side lit up and not the other!

    It's an 02 Mondeo.

    Is it an easy job?

Not exactly what you are trying to do but his guide covers the removal of the dials on your mondeo. Should give you a good idea of the work involved.

Once you have the cluster out the bulbs are easy to change with no dis-assembly of the cluster required. The bulb holders are in the back and twist anti clockwise about a quarter turn and then come out, then you put the new bulb in the holder and refit.

You may as well change all the bulbs when you are in there as they blow quite regularly.

To change all the bulbs you will need 4 x 3w capless type bulbs for the main background lighting and 2 x 1.2w dash bulbs, one each for the temperature and odometer displays.
