I know Scotch hill lambs (store ram lambs) are down an awfull lot this year.
Few farmers around me who always run a Scotch have decided not to this year and will buy replacement ewe lambs next year.

25KG ram lambs only making 30 euro last day in the mart.

Is it feasible to buy mountain store lambs and finish them over the winter on grass and meal?

    yes

i have mountain store lambs. (Average 30 -35kg) im trying to fatten them at the moment. i had to take them in because of a shortage of grass. they (30) are getting a 10KG of nuts a day and some of this years silage. i had a lad around the other day looking to buy. Hes one of these super finishers. From the chat of him id say he would be offering me gud money

I think they'd be a great buy if you had grass or silage.

Sell around January i think you'd make money.
