Hello, I know very little about cars, I drive a Megane 02 and Im looking to know if its possible to restrict the maximum speed I drive at.

I can be a bit too fond of the pedal some times and lose it the odd time on the road and I generally don't want to die in a speed related accident.
Self control is out of the question as Im mental.

What speed do you want to be restricted to? On some roads 30km/h is wayyy too fast and on others 140km/h is relativity safe.

Even if you restricted your car to 120km/h you could still end up driving to fast for the road conditions on a motorway. And be going way too fast on some other roads.

Learn some self control, we've all had to do it, and don't be relying on others. Though some cars, I've only noticed on Merc's, have speed warning limits you can set yourself but they don't stop you.

Ask a reanult dealer. If the ecu is mappable it can likely have a top speed limiter set. Depends on the ecu.

You can die in a speed related accident even below the posted speed limit.

If you don't have the ability to practice 'self control' on the road then no electronic limiter will help you.

but... its not in the driving test so its not Really needed until you need it.

invest in some good tyres, relaxing music & a more light hearted and calm approach to motoring...

theirs plenty of hours in the day so their is.

....don't some have a 'speed alarm', user-settable........or am I mixing brands ? I know some Fiat's, Merc's, and iirc Saab have it as well........

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
