Stick non return valves on the hot and cold water inlets to your shower and it will sort things out.

You need to tell us more about your shower. Whilst sticking a non return valve on the line will stop the mixing it wont solve the problem Whats most likely happening is one supply is overcoming the other.

This is a common problem with mixers on the kichen sink tap. usually the cause is the cold runs back up the hot and cools all the hot down. How you know this is the case is the attic tank overflows.

You need to tell us more about your installiation, Do you have a pump. Is your hot pipe connected to the hot tank and your cold pipe connected to the mains or the cold tank.

If you dont give us more information we cant diagnose it.

it would be more worrying if its only a new problem on a shower valve that ran normal for ages. It might mean one of the ceramic discs has failed and water is passing from the other side through the hose.

Stick a picture of the valve up and it will help diagnose what issues happen with them, working with showers over 30 years not a lot i wouldnt have seen :)

Yes it could be a number of problem, is it a new shower and who told you this was the problem, it's more than like the pump as opposed the shower and nrvs aren't the solution

There is no mention of a pump and what is likley to be happening is crossflow due to unequal pressure 99 out of 100 bar valves have no non return valves, so this Will help rectify thr issue if not rectify it completly.
