The saga of the scabby cat continues!

So as many of you know, Peach and Cream broke out in scabs around June this year. So after many vet appointments and courses of steroids the scabs were under control, not gone but not spreading. The vet reckoned it's a prickly heat type rash so he said to leave it till after the summer when the weather cooled to see are they still affected, and in the meantime if they were bad to ring up and he would leave out steroids and antibiotics for me to pick up. Well now the weather has started to cool, Cream has gotten a lot better, he still has the patch on his belly but it's not weeping and the scabs on his ears and lips have started to heal and his hair is growing back. But on the other hand Peach's scabs have spread from a patch on her belly and ear to covering her hips/tail/belly/lips/chin and most worryingly, two of her nipples are really red, swollen and scabby. I thought she might be going into a false pregnancy (she is neutered since 5/6 months) but there are no other signs of it. It must be an allergy of some sort she is suffering from rather than being affected by the heat, but I was wondering has anyone here gone through anything similar with their cats? How do they react to allergy testing/what is it like price wise etc. Or has anyone has any experience of cats just going scabby on the belly/nipple line for no reason before? I looked up a feline dermatology book in the library in college but none of the conditions I found match her symptoms and I am at a complete loss! I would really be grateful for any advise people may have, I most likely will be ringing the vet during the week and making an appointment for them sometime in the following month as their annual vaccines are due in October.

Has the vet done skin scrapes to determine if its a mite of some kind or bloods to check for an allergy.

when I was younger I used to have a scabby cat but that was flea allergic dermititis but she also to break out in scabs when my mum used shake and vac on the carpet!

They have been treated for all parasites so highly unlikely to be mites, and the vet said the pattern of the scabs and the fact they aren't demented with itch is really indicative that it's not mites. No specific allergy testing has been done yet, so that's why I want to know has anyone had any experience of it!
