Tax relief on rent payments.

I stopped renting a number of years ago but never got around to notifying revenue and so I continue to get tax relief.I didn't set out to defraud, but as a PAYE worker, I don't pay much attention to tax issues and had completely forgotten about this relief. In any case it's very small.

I also never sent in med forms to claim refunds on medical expenses, however persuaded by my partner,I sent in a claim for 2010 and 2011 some weeks back.Anyway I've just received a letter telling me that my case has been selected for review and containing a tax return form for 2010 and 2011, along with a claim form for rent relief.

Am I in huge trouble now over the rent relief? Could anyone advise me what to do? I'm really worried. Everything else is completely above board as I'm not the type of person to want hassle with the authorities. Any information would be greatly appreciated even if very bad news.Thanks.
