Whats a good place to pick up Ford parts? There is a small piece plastic that connects the gear selector cable to the bottom of the gear stick which popped open when I went to engage 1st gear a while back on a 2003 Ford Focus. Its basically a push-fit, ball and socket joint. It popped open again more recently so I guess it is worn and needs replacement. Ebay might even suffice if someone knows the name of the part since it is only a cheap piece of plastic.

I replaced them on a 99 focus years ago cos the cables had stretched, I don't think the piece you're talking about seperates from the rest of the cable

OK thanks, I'll have to check that. I presumed I would be able to remove the piece of plastic. Would be a pain if I had to replace the entire cable for such a simple fault. Probably make more sense to try and secure the joint somehow instead.
