    How are we?
    I plan on going with a friend to California next summer, he'll hopefully be travelling on a J1. Luckily i have an American passport so i wont need a J1.
    Any tips for him on getting the visa?
    After you get the visa do you have to get a separate work permit?
    Is buying a car for the summer over there cheaper than renting one?
    And anything else you might think is relevant would be greatly appreciated.
