Don't be such a freeloader and pay for it like everyone else. Or do without.

as the man says, Live streams are illegal and we don't want to be seen to be distributing or encouraging them.

Streams from official sites are no problem.

Pi$$ off. If you're too much of a scab to buy Sky Sports even for the weekend and want to watch it illegally, that's your perogative. But coming on here asking why illegal streams aren't allowed isn't cool in my book.

Can you point me to the place where I can order the Ryder Cup only from sky for watching online? My search led to a sky page telling me I could sign up for €76 a month. Honestly I would pay a reasonable fee to watch it.

    http://www.sky.com/ireland/tv/sky-go/get-it-now/

It's not ryder cup only, but 50ish a month for online access to most of their channels including sports without a contract I think. Includes iphone and iPad app access

I've paid for Fox Sports here in Australia. I want to watch the golf which is being shown on Fox Sports 3 all weekend. The muppets cut off randomly from it an hour ago to show the rugby (with Cricket and Premier League footy on the other 2 channels). I now have nowhere to watch the Ryder Cup for the rest of the foresomes. Therefore I have gone looking for a live feed. Am I a scab and a freeloader??!!

OK chill out man! Firstly, I have Sky but I'm in work for the weekend and can only watch the online stream but its ok I'm well capable of using Google and can find the "illegal" free stuff. Secondly, do you work for Sky or are you just a fan of paying their ridiculous prices. There was a day before Sky Sports that you didn't have to pay to watch the Ryder Cup ya know. My opinion is that the internet is what it is, the links are out there and I defo preferred Boards back in the day when it was less like this, but thats life I guess.

If you have Sky then you can watch it online for free on the Sky Sports website.

Just to raise a point of law. It is not so clear cut as to whether viewing a stream constitutes copyright infringement. The argument is that streaming is not downloading. But then obviously if you are streaming, you are buffering to your cache which is technically downloading.

Therefore, google is your friend for steams and you can take that risk but the sharing of stream sources on a forum or by any other means is illegal. In nearly all cases, the authorities will pursue the sharer of the streamed material and not the person streaming it.

Anyone who needs boards to find a Ryder Cup stream doesn't deserve to own a laptop...

Its illegal and leaves boards.ie exposed to legal action form the copyright owner.
The charter covers the rules about streams on this forum.

Yes we take legal threats and not risking the future of boards.ie over your (or anyone elses) inability to use a search engine.

    Thanks for the prayers.

How do you think asking for a PM is any different than sharing links on a thread? You are using boards.ie to share illegal links to copyrighted materials in both cases.

my brother in law has a basic sky package (presume its the €23 a month one) but he's able to get sky sports 1 on its own - no other sports channels. Not sure how much extra it was or how he got it but it can be done.

Streams of copyrighted material are not allowed to be linked to or hints given as to where they may be located anywhere on Boards

This includes the Soccer Forum where they have a sticky explaining the policy and linking to this post by Dav

This is not a topic for discussion here - any issues take it to Feedback

    Thanks

    Beasty
