    Hi guys

Am back in college after the summer break and when I went to get my weekly payment, the receipt said Jobseekers Allowance, so I got a letter of enrolement for the academic year from college and dropped it into the social welfare as proof and they informed me that I was already on BTEA even though the recipet says otherwise, basically saying it all falls under the same umbrella now.

    Is this correct?

    Cheers

Did you receive a letter from social welfare stating that your payment has been switched?

    Nope, no letter

Woman in social welfare said that it showed up in her computer as BTEA. My receipt says Jobseekers so I am unsure:-/

It's fine, I found the same thing. It's the same payment, just a different name. They have your registration confirmation, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up :)

Guessing we'll still receive the laptop grant around the end of October/early November like the last couple of years?

Thinks its been cut from 600e to 300e though :(

Balls, in addition to your weekly BTEA payment, you also get an annual Cost of Education Allowance, which is paid at the start of each academic year. The Cost of Education Allowance is €300 in 2012.
