I am looking at TBS 6220, DVB-T2 PCI tuner to install on the desktop PC
anyone know if this TBS is a good brand or any suggestion to what I should look for?
after that installed, what software would be suitable for me to record off-air, BBC1 HD, to capture all, video, audio, 5.1 and subtitles so that I can transfer to BD for my own viewing at a later date, some programs that I want to keep.
any pointers and help in this would be grateful

    TIA

I don't have a TBS, but they get good reviews from what I read.
Blackgold are also reported to be good ...

Presently I use a €15 DTT USB dongle to record TV to the HDD.

I use VLC, Kaffeine, & Me-TV amongst others to view & record.

What operating system are you using?
That will surely have a bearing on what software is available and what cost, if any.

    Windows XP
hope to have Windows 7 early next year after the Christmas rush is over and maybe drop in price in January sales

Thank about the Blackgold, I will look into it later and see is compatible for my needs

Blackgold is the "Rolls-Royce" of cards and priced accordingly. I have several TBS sat cards which do the job. Once you migrate to Win7 you will find Windows Media Centre is one of the best all round pieces of software.

    off topic
    Talking of satellite DVB-S2,
would you go for PCI or external USB with power feed in?
Does some PCI have extra power connection to power the LNB?
I read somewhere that PCI alone is not powerful enough but they are still selling them, some reporting to upgrading the power supply in the desktop to meet the power demand

Thanks to all replied to my enquiries.

No, PCI is only an issue with Motor Drive.
I've 2 x DVB-S2 cards on XP with DVBviewer. I have run up to 4 x Sat cards + Dual USB DTT on one PC.

Even if you have Win7 the DVBViewer + MHEG5 plug in is worth it.

USB Satellite adaptors are inferior except in ability for Motor drive and cost more. There is at least one PCI or PCIe sat card with a PSU connector for Motorised Dish.

The TBS card has a 6-pin socket for extra power similar to that used by High-powered video cards.

As does the Blackgold I am eye-ing ...... and reports i have read indicate that a lot of cards do not work properly if the power connector (6 pin PCI-e) is not connected.
