Can anyone recommend an antivirus for an android tablet? While looking at the tablets in Currys I saw an Norton Tablet Security, I've never been happy with Nortons on my PCs as I think it slows them down.

    So what is everyone using?

I've no idea but to me it seems Android is taking over from Windows and the clowns that target window based OS could do the same for Android.

Personally I don't think you need one. Just use your common sense when browsing and downloading and backup as often as you can.

You don't need an antivirus, only Windows gets viruses, but what I would recommend is an app to allow you remotely wipe your device in case it goes missing, it will have your emails and lots of other sensitive information. I use WatchDroid myselfon my phone, but this works by sms will be of no use on a tablet. I think I read that Avast does this

Thanks, may use the WatchDroid for my own phone.

I'll have a read of the link later.

Avast! It's free and doesn't eat your RAM. It also has an optional free anti-theft module for Android phones.

Did I mention that it's free?
