    Hi all,

Anyone play Rodrigo y Gabriela Style (or more specifically Gabriela's style) of guitar?

I want to learn how to play this style but don't know what guitar to get that would be best. A traditional classical guitar would be good I guess but I don't like that the strings are so far apart.

I saw on the net somewhere recommending a nylon string crossover guitar.

Can anyone recommend an affordable Guitar for Gabriela's Style of play?

    Thanks

Classical guitars aren't my area of expertise but as you look for them keep an eye out for the nut width. Some will even have information about string spacing. I'm sure there are classical guitars for people like you (and me) who prefer a more 'modern' feel.

I bought one of these http://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_hbcg300ce_konzertgitarre.htm It's actually not a bad playing guitar and it has that nylon string sound, I wanted something cheap with a cutaway and this this really did the job. It also has a pickup so you can plug it in though it's got a really weak signal.

im after 3/4 sized classical to lean in the direction of pierre bensusan who I reckon has a far more complete feel for one guitarist. Rod y Gab are amazing, as a duo, to fill eachothers harmony, but as a solo tone the vast majority of their music would sound empty to me.

I bought a "Valencia" a few years back for about €200. It's a pretty good guitar for the money........
