So there has been a lot of cat bashing on several threads as of late so I thought I'd start one on why we love our cats! Please dont escalate into a debate again, this is a purely happy thread! So I'll get the ball rolling. I love the way Peach has to sit on someones lap every evening or else she will be sad. Its usually me, if Im at college its my dad and if hes not around my mom will do! She also licks my if I scratch her itchy spots :)

I also love the way Cream does anything to get attention, he gets very creative. He knocks something in the kitchen so we will come out to investigate, while he hides under the table waiting to pounce on unsuspecting ankles. He also climbs up where be shouldnt, he will go up on the phone table and I ignore him, he goes up from there to the side unit and I give him a warning. He sits and waits till I look away then creeps up into the mantle piece, so I shout at him and stand up to go over then he flies off the mantle and weaves around my legs as if saying 'haha I made you stand!'. And also he doesnt like to be alone in the sitting room. If its just him and my mom in the house and she is in the kitchen ironing he will walk the entire house bawling, then finally will come into the kitchen and sit at her feet crying. If she still ignores him he puts his 2 paws up on her leg and wont go away until she picks him up, cuddles him and eventually sits beside him on the bean bag in the sitting room. She has to wait until he falls asleep again before she can continue ironing! And last but not least, he sits outsode my room door crying when Im not home.

Wow that was a long post! Anyone else have any nice funny or cute stories about their funky felines?:)

Edit: Here's a pic of the handsome devils :)

So there has been a lot of cat bashing on several threads aw of late

Just a quick note: the threads don't seem to bash the cats themselves, but instead the actions (or lack thereof) of the cat owners. I'm not sure anyone has anything personal against the cats :)

That said, we adopted a pure white cat with different coloured eyes a few months ago & she's stolen our hearts. We've notoriously been "dog people" and my hubby's made no qualms about not really being a fan of cats, but we adopted Mindy for our kids. Since bringing her home she's completely won all of us over. A perfect combination of aloof & social, tolerant of kids, strangers & big dogs, she curls up in the crook of my 3-yr old's knees every night & welcomes me when I wake every morning. The perfect cat for us :)

I actually meant to start a thread like this too. I own a rescue cat, got her at 9 months. She is the most amazingly affectionate animal I have ever known. I grew up with dogs and even my parents and sister who were 'dog' people have come to realise the enormous personality cats have. I can truly say she makes my house a home. I talk to her all the time and wink at her when she winks at me!!! She always wants to be in my arms purring away. I don't know what I would do without her but my world would be an emptier place.

    Thanks SillymangoX:D
One of my cats will get up from wherever she's sleeping if I go outside, and follow me. She'll wail and cry and follow me until I come back inside. If I'm taking the dog for a walk I have to make sure she doesn't see me, otherwise she'll chase us along the road, calling. She has abandonment issues.... someone dumped her when she got pregnant:mad: She was in such a state that at one point I considered having her put to sleep. She was worth all the trouble - she's the sweetest, friendliest, most loyal cat - but really insecure and a bit neurotic. The funny thing is that one of her adult kittens has picked up on the behaviour, and also chases me down the garden now.

The joy of seeing my 3 cats tearing up the garden with my 5 dogs - oh! the freedom of animals enjoying themselves together after being let out to run about.

One of my cats snuggles up to my neck and pummels me with her paws and licks me just as she would have done with her mother. Another does it to one of the dogs and the dog does not object at all.

There's a cat that was left here when its so called owner moved out in 06 and I'v been feeding her for years, Great bond with her, She is a proper outdoor cat and actually won't venture into any of the houses here, Its a rough area so if that cat could talk the courts would be very busy.

Lots of residents feed her but she really relax's around me and my friends which I never see her do with anybody else, She stretches out and rolls around, She knows the sound of my car too and most day's around this time she stares up at my window waiting for me to feed her.

The funniest thing is she actually takes walks around the block with us, Just like a dog.

    I have 3 cats.

Eta is the oldest. She wasn't handled much when she was very young and has never really been that good with people. She'll cry and moan if she's inside and doesn't really settle down. The odd time I'll roll her over and give her a vigorous tummy rub and she really loves that. She's a tough cat to like but I think I'd still miss her if she was gone.

Rosie is the stray that I started feeding about 6 months ago. She was always quite friendly but is still quite nervous about being inside. She's pretty happy to go out soon after coming in. She adores being petted. She will start purring loudly when you're around just at the thought you'll pet her. She constantly comes back with cobwebs in her whiskers, I've no idea where she finds them.

Bertrand is Rosie's kitten. He's not the brightest but I love him to bits at the same time. He has a real air of boldness about him.

My two Toms always wait outside the door for me to come home from work, they mark me for ages and sleep with their heads near to my head. That's just cute, I love them :)

I love my kitties! Sadly my hubby hates em :(

I have two males, the eldest must be about 6 months old, I decided to get another kitty a few weeks ago so as he would have a little buddy, and initially I couldn't leave them together because the eldest would maul the kitten..but now they're best buds and the baby is even 'mothered' by the elder!
Cats give lots of love and aren't cold like so many people think!

We have two ladies peppy Lou and puspus, they rule the house, were only here to serve them, peppy Lou is worse than any alarm clock when she wakes up its straight down to the kitchen window and screams at the top of tiny lungs to get out and won't stop till she gets her way. Puspus has no interest in the outside, the door could be open but pus will sit beside my partner at the kitchen table or in the sitting room she's he's shadow and always giving loves...... We'd be lost without them.

I started a thread a while back about a kitten that turned up at my door, i had her for a few weeks and then the owners called, tbh i was sad to see her go. In the last few weeks she has turned up at my back door a few times, she comes in for a play, a nap on the couch and then after a few hours goes on her way again. Its great been a part time owner, i wonder how her owners would feel if they knew she was cheating on them :)

I'm sitting here watching our three cats. One is asleep on the stereo.
Meanwhile Rocky is curled up on the back of the sofa and Susie marches in very few minutes, jumps up on the arm of the sofa and gurgles, licks and headbutts him looking for attention.
I've never seen a cat so infatuated with another cat. She, as many of you know, was a stray who adopted us and moved in. Despite still being a bit nervous of humans, she must be the best natured, mild mannered cats I've come across.
She's never cross or cranky and is always trying to cuddle or play with the other two. It's very endearing.
Also, when our three month daughter cries, she comes running with a worried look on her face a if to check if everything is OK. ;)

My Freddie comes when he is called and stands up on his hind legs to be lifted up. His front paws almost reach my shoulders when he does this. He is my cuddles monster, always willing to lie on top of me to make me feel better if im sick. I love that he kisses me when i'm trying to give him a bath.

Marge is another cuddle monster who insists on greeting everyone who comes into the house.

Mo chats to me, and can say his name, i can spend hrs talking to him.

I love that Snowball adores the new rug that we got. She will spend hrs rolling around on it getting brushed.

Bart is my sweet boy who chatters away to himself.

I love that smithers attacking mode is to drop to the ground and show his belly in the hope that the dangly toy will be drawn to it.

I love that Xena is our baby girl, she is 3 now and is still our baby girl.

Homer bounces everywhere like a bunny. I love that he wont reply to his name unless its said 3 times in row.

What do i love about Lisa witch..... I love that she has finally settled down with her neurological issues to come downstairs to spend some time with us. I dont like that she steals crisps from me as I'm putting them into my mouth however. :-)

OMG...I am loving all these posts as I too am a cat lover :D

My cat is also called Rocky and he's now 11yrs old - I also owned his mother Missy ( or she owned me) and actually saw him being born. Unfortunately Missy passed away when she was 4 (8 yrs ago) and I still miss her:mad: Its amazing how cats just get under your skin and into ur heart!!

Anyhoo, Rocky is now my only fur-baby and I love how he knows the sound of my car and dashes to meet me when I come home.

I love how after his din-dins (dinner to u and me) he has to have some attention and he will miow and call me until he gets some fussing, ....He also has some quirks - he hates his belly being rubbed... it makes him very very cranky:p

I also love how when its cold, he comes under the duvet and snuggles beside me with his head on the pillow like a human:D It never fails to make me laugh...as does his snoring;)

I love how when he's in a really really good mood, he'll come up to my head and give me some head-bumps and licks.... he's not into kisses:D

As I said, I've had him 11yrs now so he has me well-trained:D.... he's actually my longest relationship ha ha ha :D
