    Hey,
First post on boards was reserved for you lovely poeple :) First of many in this section.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I know you can buy vegan cheese in the Nourish shops in Dublin, but as it's about €3 a pop and I'm a penniless student I was wondering if any of you guys know of another place I could get it for maybe a little bit cheaper.

Also, how should I store it. I usually just open it, use it and put the rest back in the fridge. But it tends to go off after about 4-5 days. And I don't wanna eat cheesy things 4 days in a row simply to justify spending €3 on it. It has just dawned on me that if a pop it in a sealed lunchbox I might get longer out of it, but as I'm just guessing, some confirmation on that would be appreciated.

Anyway, happy to be here and hope to chat to you all in more dept soon.

    Sha-key.

    There is Teese.

In fairness thought they are not cheese really though. A "cheese" that is made without any actual dairy content is not cheese.

More of a cheese like substitute.

I find Sheese lasts longer than Cheezly - usually lasts over a week for me, I think. It generally freezes well, so you could wrap chunks in clingfilm and stick em in the freezer, then let defrost overnight in the fridge when you want to use it.

No tips on cheaper cheese, but proper cow cheese is probably around the same price.

I've never heard of this. Can you get it in Dublin do you know? I'd like to try a few different ones.
    is not cheese.

Ah yeah, i know. But as long as it tastes like cheese that's all I want really.

Yeah, cheezly is the one I usually get. But Not overly impressed with it.[/QUOTE]

I did not know this. Thanks for that.

Oh God yeah, much cheaper. When I was a veggie I was able to buy a kilo of greated cheese in Lidl for hardly anything.

    Ireland sucks for vegans :(

I really like cheezly but honeslty you are not going to find a specialist product like vegan cheese for cheaper than that. You're right though, it does go off quite quickly, which puts me off buying it too often, especially if it's just yourself eating it. I normally get it an odd time, go mad making toasted sandwiches, then don't get it for a while again. sorry not very helpful!

You can freeze it if you don't want to use it all up at once.

Yep, I chop it into chunks, wrap in clingfilm and freeze. Let it defrost in the fridge (overnight or so) and it seems fine - still grateable and all, I don't notice a difference in texture.

Cool. Well this is what I'll be doing in future. €3 isn't too bad at all now if I am able to make it last as long as I want it to.

    Thanks :)
