    Hi All,

ok so i have my own insurance,

Im 18 years old and i am on my own insurance with my sister as a named driver.

    I am driving a 1.2 corsa.

passed my driving test in June and i paid 1,800 euro for the year.

I know your going to say "cheaper for my sister to be main driver" but it's not. They had a "lads" deal on at the time and it worked out cheaper for me to be the main driver.

    What do you think?

If i get a 1 year no claims will the insurance go down in price much ?

Think I paid €2,200 for the first year after passing test. €1,400 for the second and €900 for this year. No Claims makes such a difference!

Your quote is quite good I would have thought.

At 18 I paid £4000IR to get insured as a named driver on an Escort!

I would have said its a decent enough price (well, relatively speaking anyway!) but without wanting to sound smart the only to know if its a good deal or not is to get out the phonebook and ring every insurer and broker that you can find. Only by comparing prices of other quotes that you get will you know if it is a good deal or not.

As for Irish insurance market, it's probaby allright.
Comparing what young people like you pay in other countries in the EU it looks like robbery.
