Recently bought a 08 Steel 2 Fiesta. (Running well). I'm not sure which Mark it is or what the difference is with the Steel 1. I'm looking for a link for the owners manual.
Also for servicing, is there any advantage in going to a Ford dealer for servicing rather that my local man, thinking of diagnostic computer or other specialised Ford kit to keep it running sweet.

we have a 2010 Fiesta. Up til now we have taken it to the Main Dealer for service, but soon we will be taking it to our trusted Indy If there was a fault, I might take it to the main Dealer but there is no need just for a routine service imho

Far as I know a steel 2 is like a steel but with 16 inch alloys

Nothing an independent mechanic can't handle

Mk6 is the 02-08 model, Mk7 is the current model

Steel had 16" alloy wheels too but they were a different style to those on the Steel II.

Steel II initially had on top of the original Steel, colour coded exterior parts - door handles, front fog light surrounds, side body strips and rear boot lid. In early 2008 it gained a Sony upgrade stereo, auto lights and auto wipers as standard until the new model arrived. Sister has one for over 2 years and not a day's trouble with it, they are mechanically simple to work on so an indy is the way to go.

thanks for the info. I found a site for the owners handbook:
    https://www.z-order.de/download/

Another thing, I fitted wind deflectors and with the electric windows, I'm not getting a good seal anymore, wind noise at motorway speeds. Know of a non- destructive way of removing them?

Are the ones that fit into the rubber seals? If so, try lubricating the seals and the window might close tighter.

according to Ford, the 02 to 08 model is fifth generation so Mk5 is more logical, 00 to 02 is mk4 facefift.

And mk 4 is essentially a reskin of the 89 model :-)

    Oops

yes in some ways but the mk4 and the 00MY are almost exactly the same except the front and back end.

    Oops

Which itself is a reskin of the Mk2, which was a reskin of the Mk1 from 76:cool:!
