One of my friends went back to college to do this course and he says it is very rigorous. The course was entirely reshuffled this year and it's pretty darn good compared to some other engineering courses in the college.

Hey man I'm in 3rd year of that course now,

Very very good course, the renewables side of things doesn't really happen until third year. There is plenty of maths which will burn you out sometimes and the timetable can be a little busy, but its a great course!

You also learn about plastics and moulding, writing plc networks, you go very indepth into cad and 3d modelling and you get plenty of workshop in 1st and 2nd year where you build projects to go towards your end of year grade.

Its a great course, with very helpful lecturers, if ya want to know anything else get back to me!

Hey no I got a B in Ordinary, like its alright but at stages it can be a killer!
Its just all new stuff that you meet that has no bearing really on anything you would have learned before really!
Other than that its grand and also there are great tutors there if you do fall behind who will help for free and hold extra classes etc so there is nothing to worry about ;)

I don't live there man I commute from Tullamore.
But spent 3 years there now and the place is grand, the one estate that has a bad name is Willow Park but I know lads who lived there now for the 3 years and nothing has ever gone on!
There never seems to be any trouble so wouldn't worry, the apartments across from the college are cheap and seem fairly good if you get to that point :)
Croi Oige i think is the name of them!
