Depends too much on how you are built. If your 6'5" and stick thin, or 5'9" and built like an ox. Whatever you do start steady.
You can get a good program from gym instructor or online.
Stick to functional exercises is what is always advised. So bicep curling all day will give you a quick effect of impressive guns but it's pretty useless on a football pitch if your legs are weak. Drink plenty water and eat sensible.
Also you may already be very strong for your age of 17 and be more in need of stamina training. You'll be getting stronger as you mature towards 21.
Circuit training will always give you a good base of strength and stamina.
An instructor will give you a fitness test and advise you properly.
