Check post #2 in this thread. OP corrected to the 124 when he/she found it that it had been changed.

Do Bombardier use the An-124 often to transport parts from Belfast?

Was the first time I believe, hopefully could be a regular thing.

No more trains for NIR or IE for a long, long time. All current orders are delivered. They are usually shipped in from Spain to Belfast. It's more economical, they can get 9 -12 cars per delivery, not so with a 124.

They're one hell of a big baby those Antonovs. Was given a tour by Volga-Dnper Airlines in Vnukovo airport 10 years ago. Awesome.

Could become a regular thing with the construction of the Bombardier C-Series underway spooling up. I think the wings are being made in Belfast.

It was originally scheduled the an225 but that went tech and they had a deadline to meet since the wings were being transported to BFS by road, they just about fit inside the 124 but next time if it goes with the fueslage then it's defo the 225 needed

Carraig Fhearghais, are you from the North? I've been gigging a lot recently and wish that I'd kept an eye on this forum - I'd have got along myself to get a shot or two of the plane coming in!

The first & second sets were taken last Friday as it arrived at BFS, the 3rd set are from 2005 & the last (small clickable thumbnails) were taken on Friday as it was being loaded AFAIK.

I find the Northern Ireland Aviation Forum great for up to date info as to arrivals etc. (I live about 40/45 mins from BFS so any advance info is invaluable if I want to get there for stuff like this).
