    Hey guys

Am a 2nd year European Studies student and am looking to transfer to International Tourism and Hospitality.

Is it still early enough in the academci year to do it and how do I go about it?

    Many thanks :)

Go to the Registrar, could be too late mind you as the courses will be filled.

    any luck?

I tried something similar and failed miserably. Didn't even get a response from those I emailed/rang etc. Joke of a college. There's been tremendous developments within the college, modern computers, new car parks, synergy centre etc but some of the staff I have found to be completely out of their debt!

    No luck.

Said my current course was too different to the one I wanted to switch to so I wouldn't be able to go straight into 2nd year of that course, and when I suggested I'd do first year they said it was too late and I'd need to apply through the CAO.

Completely agree with your comment about the staff. They're hopeless, rude and incompetent. F*cking sick of them

I appreciate your disappointed that your request could not be accommodated and frustrated with the options given to you I think you should back down from tarring the entire staff of the college with the same brush.

Entry into 1st year is via the CAO - same way you got in. Think about how unfair it would seem to you if as a new CAO applicant you lost your chance to get into college to someone already there looking to change their mind and get a second chance. There are alternatives and perhaps you can persue these with the SU education officer etc.

If you do honestly find some staff rude and incompetent - complain... but do so appropriately. Ask to speak to their line manager, if they are not there ask for the name and E-Mail them.
