Hi all, I have a return flight booked next week but only need the return leg. Is this possible or will they cancel it if I do not use the outbound?

    Thanks!

Flew with Flybe a couple of months ago and didn't cancel outbound flight (tried but was kept on hold for some time). Didnt use the outbound flight. Had no problem embarking on the return flight. Got my taxes back less the admin fee for outbound.

Tread very carefully here, it depends on the airline.

Low Cost Carriers, whereby a return is viewed upon as 2 x Single trips, you can bypass the outbound and just hop on the return at your leisure.

However for full service airlines, not showing up for the first flight on the itinerary will usually void any subsequent flights and connections. Obviously this would be a very bad idea. If you don't rebook they will cancel and the reservation for your return trip will cease to exist.

If it's just Ryanair, Aer Lingus etc then you should be fine but double check with the airline, only way to be sure.
