Broken gearbox - Fix or sell?

Hi all, looking for some advice.

I've had a 2004 Daewoo Kalos 1.2SE hatchback sitting in my driveway for the past six months, similar to this.

It has a broken gearbox and at the time we didn't have the cash to repair it. Both road tax and NCT have now expired. When I did look into it it was difficult to track down a replacement here, I could find plenty for 1.4 engines, but not 1.2 and I was told by a mechanic that they are different, although he could have been wrong on that.

Would it be worth my while getting a new gearbox from a UK breaker, having it repaired, NCT'd and taxed, and then trying to sell it? Or should I just send it to the scrapyard? Would I be likely to find a buyer for it as is? I imagine I'd have to source a new clutch too as it's been sitting exposed.

The car itself never gave us any other trouble, it's been in the family since new, and is in good condition bar some minor scratches.
