I know this will annoy loads of you reading this so fire away with all the personal assaults but if anybody has any decent info on this I would be glad to hear it. We have to leave the country for 2 or 3 months for work and I was wondering if there is any way we can keep our childrens allowance for that period, can we assign anyone to collect it on our behalf?
Our CA goes straight from the post office to the tsb for the mortgage, we never see a penny of it in actual cash and we need to keep it coming in. I need to take the work to get the experience and it may lead to a permanent position where we can make other mortgage arrangements.

    DISQUALIFICATIONS
    Absence from the State

Child Benefit is not payable outside the State except for the specific groups mentioned above.

Don't think so as you wouldn't be classed as a migrant worker. Read the full operational guidelines HERE

While the children may not be in Ireland the parent or legal guardian must be habitually resident here.

afaik if you are not living here you are not entitled to the payment.OP mentions they are leaving the country so Habitual resident doesnt come into it.I have heard of people having overpayments because they left the state
Give Child benefit a call in the morning and they will let you know.Best to find out now rather than get caught with an overpayment later.

a foreigner working in Ireland whose child is living in another EU country is entitled to recieve child benefit here and its the same in every EU country.
