Seems like some serious over the top violence here. Feckin animals

    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/thugs-cut-off-mans-finger-and-slashed-his-face-in-theft-3242119.html

THUGS severed a finger from their 57-year-old victim and slashed him repeatedly across the face and body in a savage assault at his home. The victim was named last night as John Mulkerins, who was being treated for his wounds at Waterford regional hospital.
Mr Mulkerins later told gardai that four men, who had covered their faces with scarves, came into his house after midnight and attacked him with a knife after demanding money.
He said a small amount of cash had been taken.
The gang held Mr Mulkerins down while they completely severed his finger. They also inflicted a deep wound across the width of an earlobe and caused superficial injuries elsewhere on his face and body.
Gardai said Mr Mulkerins regularly left open the front door of his home at Congress Villas in Dungarvan, Co Waterford, and was used to visitors calling into his house.
His condition was said to be stable last night.
Gardai sealed off the house for a detailed technical examination.
Officers held an initial chat with Mr Mulkerins after the attack but are hoping to carry out a more extensive interview when his condition improves.
Throughout the day, gardai collected footage from CCTV cameras located in the town in a bid to identify his attackers.
House-to-house inquiries were also carried out and gardai appealed to anybody who may have spotted a group acting suspiciously in the Congress Villas area between midnight and 2am on Wednesday to contact them at the station, or on the confidential line 1800 666111.
A case conference will be held at the station this morning to review progress.
Locals said last night that Mr Mulkerins was known in the town as 'The Flag Power'.

    Horror
He had worked previously in the construction trade and also spent some time in England but is a native of Dungarvan.
Residents of Congress Villas last night expressed horror at the attack although some were not aware that it had taken place until later yesterday morning.
A neighbour of Mr Mulkerins, who did not want to be named, said: "I didn't hear a thing last night. It sounds like a dreadful thing to have gone through."
