Quick question hopefully someone can help with.

When searching on skyscanner for the whole month, I select dates and given the cheapest option.

I then select to view the different flight times and stop overs etc and the cheapest price has gone up by €60

    Anyone know why this happens?

    Thanks.

The initial price you get is just the cheapest price for those dates, and the cheapest times may not be the ones you want.
Also the initial price is not always the 'live' price it may a few hours, or even days old depending on when it was last updated.

Yea, same thing has happened me a few times with skyscanner, i've had it go up and down. Where it shows you the price it usually has some small text in the corner showing when the price was last updated - sometimes it can be 2 or 3 days ago.
I use it every time i fly, i think it's a great site!

Be careful when using Skyscanner as they support third party travel agencies who deliberatly increase prices after initial booking.

    youbookit.net for example:

They are in the habit of requesting credit card authorization details 24 hours after you initially book your ticket.

Once you send this they will email you telling you that the price has increased and if you wish to cancel there is a €35 cancellation fee and 45 days before your money is returned.

I have been stung by these, through Skyscanner who have verified this company.

Skyscanner were no help either and seem to support this behavior.

I only use official airline website links. I would stay clear of all the third party sites that sky scanner link to.

Kind of defeats the purpose of Skyscanner if you do that. Eg I used Skyscanner to book flights to Orlando recently. Booking was through a third party site (last minute.com) for flights with Delta. Had I used the official airline website I would have paid twice the price.
