    Evening everyone,

Will finish is post off later on this evening, meant to be studying right now. Alas the marvels of procrastination.

    Thinking of selling is Alan again, as I don't do a whole lot of cycling anymore and it's pointless having this lying around. I'll get straight into the specs;

    Alan Track Frame, 54/TT, 56/ST
    Alpina Carbon Forks, 1"
    BBB headset
    Shimano UN-somethingorother BB
Dura ace wheelset, laced to mavic open pros. Rear hub is in perfect condition, front hub is a complete and utter piece of shít, badly needs to have the bearings overhauled. Although that hasn't stopped me from riding it, all the same. 17t BLB cog and DA lockring.
Dura Ace crankset, 48t chainring, NJS stamped. Scuffed but not scratched.
Mks Nuevo pedals w/ cages and double straps.
Profile airwing bullhorns and GT stem.
Generic faux carbon seatpost, and an slr saddle

It's a cracking frame, uber reactive, in excellent condition. No scratches, dents, chips ect

I'm really not that sure on pricing it, as I've never seen an alan track before and that's with me perving on bike websites for the past few years...So, we'll start at €550, which I don't think is all that outrageous for a bike of this quality.

I'd definitely be interested in splitting her up, HOWEVER, this would be subject to having solid buyers for the bulk of the parts, ie, no cowboys offering a 5er and a can of Dutch for a chain link.

If you are interested in a particular part, please state your interest and I'll contact you in the event of a split.

    Photos on their way later.

Based in Seapoint, Dublin. Would prefer collection. Might post as well.

    Thanks&Enjoy!

What would she be weight wise?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 145 ✭✭lovelyoner

Apologies for not getting back sooner.

She weighs in at 7.9KG, with the setup shown in the photos.

Front wheel is NJS stamped, rear is not.
Cranks are 165 in length, and are NJS stamped too.
    Pedals aren't NJS stamped.

I'll now consider splitting her up, will edit the OP with prices for each, cheers.

Edit; just found out you can't edit OP from iPhone, so rough prices until I'm on a computer: wheels 200, cranks etc 140, pedals etc 35, F&F 230. All prices are ONO

I'd take the wheels, cranks and bottom bracket for €300 if you're interested. And I'd collect.

Best I could do would be cranks/wheels for 300, or, cranks/BB/wheels for 320.

    Cheers

How much for just the cranks ?
    Thaanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 145 ✭✭lovelyoner

150 for cranks and c'ring, cheers

Would you go €290 for the wheels and cranks so? I'm offering a tenner less just to get the bearings in the front wheel sorted. I'll collect tomorrow.

That seems fair enough alright. I'll take you up on that offer, will PM now with details!

    Do you still have this?

    I do indeed.

Didn't sell it to mick because I couldn't get the cranks off. He reckons that the BB spindle is too big for the crank, and that it's stuck on there now. They could definitely be removed in some way or another, but I'm not all that prepared to do it ATM.

Also, should probably be more clear when I say that the front wheel is a complete POS, ie, it's difficult to turn, not just rough.

Hence, I'm prepared to sell the frame/forks/BB/Cranks/C'ring together for €400, which is a solid price IMO, won't be taking offers on this.

If I can't sell it as a whole, I'll just drill the forks and use it more as a winter commuter or something with fatter tyres!

Cheers, and here's another quick flick of her in another carnation ;)

please don't drill those forks!! If you really feel the need then I could swap you for a pair that are already drilled (here they are on my bike).

Also, the frame, forks and cranks are very nice and would make a great bike for someone.

I think I might cry. Have just put a hole in the front and rear of it FFS! Would have definitely swapped if I'd seen this sooner. Haven't completely drilled them through yet, give me a shout if in the off chance that you're still interested.

On another note, I appear to be hitting a bolt thats threaded into where the brake drilling would normally be. From what I've read, it's done in the Alpina factory and is threaded into the forks. Anyone have any experience drilling through it/getting it out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 93 ✭✭r27

How much for just the dura ace front wheel then ? And is it a cartilage bearing front hub or loose ball ?

With them forks you drill from the back then unscrew the bolt as far as I know

if hes not I have some black risers, 25.4mm and new. can cut them shorter if you want with a tube cutter so its a tidy job.

So what's available then? And prices? Did you manage to get the cranks off of the BB? The crankset is a Dura Ace track one, 144bcd, correct? What brand/make is the chainring? Are the hubs loose ball bearings or cartridge?

I'd be interested in rear wheel and crankset.

    Thanks.

    Here's what's available;

    Frame/fork/HS/BB-225
    Cranks/chainring-125
    Rear Wheel-140

Haven't managed to get the cranks off the bike myself, if I have a definite buyer then Ill bring it down to my LBS and get them removed. Cranks are Dura Ace 7600, 144BCD. Chainring is also DA, 48t and NJS stamped. The rear hub is cartridge bearing, DA 7710 low flange.

    Cheers

If the crank doesn't want to come off, doesn't that mean the tapers will be shot, when you do eventually disassemble it from the bb?

It would indeed ruin them if you did an amateur hammer and tongs job. Which is why I said if I do get a definite buyer, Ill get the LBS to take them off to prevent any damage. I'm not asking for money up front either; if you think they're fooked you're not obliged to buy them.

How about 80 for the chainset? For your asking price, they are usually in very good condition. You don't seem to have the crank bolts also. Are the chainring bolts original Shimano or?

Pending that threads/tapers are in good condition.

    Thanks.

Not really, sorry. I was offered £140 for cranks and BB not so long ago which I know is a bit OTT, but I'd definitely be looking at 150 odd quid on eBay. I'll let them go for 125, but no less.

Decided to advertise this elsewhere again with a bit more of a suitable audience; if anyone is still interested PM me.

Mods please lock this thread, thanks.
