Anyone know how big an event this one is? Thinking about driving down to it as it looks like a really nice route.

    Anyone doing it? see http://www.valleywheelerscc.com/

PS: translates to "Across the Valleys"!

I done it last year its a good route road surface is crap in places but we are well used of that. Hard to say how many turned up last year mabe 60 between all the routes. There is some nice climbs nothing too steep but if you want steep The priests leap is near:). I done the long one last year and we split into two groups one handy pace and the other was faster that was from Kilgarven. I will be defenitly doing it anyway. Good club organising it they do a lot for cycling in the area.

In the past I have done this and the other event organised by Valley Wheelers (The Mick Dineen).

    Impressions
    Small - 100 to 200 cyclists.
Stunning routes - some of my absolute favourites.
    Well supported by locals.

    Very very well organised.
    Good road markings.
    Changing rooms/showers etc.
    Great food stop.

Small event but definitely worth travelling for.

Is it just turn up on the morning and pay the fee??? No advance registration needed???

Any directions to same coming from Kerry directions once I get to Macroom town ???

Done the 85 Rebel Tour... would the 100 on this be too much in comparison??

Well have a look at the route map for starters - it shows exactly where Kilnamartrya is located :)

Coming from Kerry, you don't go as far as Macroom. You know how, after Ballyvourney, the road goes into that very twisty, uppy-downy bit for about 5-6km? Well just where it straightens out, there's a road to the right with a daycent sized pub in the corner called the Mons Bar. The right turn is signposted Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh (Ballingeary) and Cill na Martra (Kilnamartrya) and it's plain sailing from there. Both towns are in the Gaeltacht so English placenames do not appear on the signs. Worth knowing too that the Toy Solider factory is in Kilnamartrya so you can follow their unofficial signs to get to Kilnamartrya.

Toisc go bhfuil an imeacht ar siúl sa Ghaeltacht, an dóigh leat go mbeadh saghas ceadúnas neamhoifigiúil tugtha dúinn chun é a phlé i nGaelainn?
