Angle of lean sensor fault 2001 volvo s60 2.0T

    got a diagnostics done and this fault comes up
    does anyone know 1 is it important? 2 expensive? 3 part and part number?
    tried googling this and posting on volvo uk forums no joy.
    may be called a steering angle sensor?
    didnt get the fault code unfortunatley.

    I think you should have it read again, preferbly by someone with a scanner compatible with Volvo. It will be cheaper than thrown parts at it and hopeing for the best.

    Get a printout of the result this time, showing code, description and which module it is stored on.

    The guy said it was a €4500(!) machine it picked up the above problem with faulty thermostat (true was already aware of that now fixed) and front heated oxygen sensor(have the part about to put it in) weird thing as he was unplugging it the DIM said reduced performance(?)
    I'm fairly convinced about the O2 sensor as it hesitates a little at about 2400 and 2900 RPM and economy is about 31 MPG even on motorway speeds.

    So the code is from the engine module.

    Lean refers to fueling, lean mixture. A faulty oxygen will affect fueling but so will many other things.

    Hopefully this will sort it but may be a symptom rather than the cause.
