I got a quote there last week from aviva to add a van to my fathers farm insurance, His policy with me as named. Worked out well,Got a quote of 549 for the year.

This was even sent out on a letter stating the policy details about both drivers.

Rang Back This week To Pay For It And My Father Was Told He cant have 2 Policys With Same No Claims( Even though he had told them this the first when he got the qoute!) And That They Dont Insure Young Drivers( Me Being 20) But I Was also Stated To Be A Named 20 Year old driver when got first quote?

How come they changed there minds on this? Is this allowed even though we got the quote in writing?

Also iv been looking since to get insurance on van in my own name! But Alot of companies wont insure me privately? And pretty much tell me to come back when iv a car? Any way around this?

    Any Help Appreciated,

    Thanks

i'm sure if you read the T&C of the quote to add the van -
i more than likely says "your father states he is main driver of new van"
as you say the van is yours then the quote is Nulled

As for commercial Van for private use - why would you buy commercial van for private use ? - Curiousity what would you be using van for - whats your occupation

Good Point I Suppose!! But my father is owner in the log book!

Reason van was bought was because i came accross it cheap and couldnt let it go!! What It would be used for is to bring me to work. I work part time in a cinema! Might also be used the odd time for carrying speakers as im a dj..but things in that department have quietened down as i havent a gig booked till next may!
