I am trying to get my Ipad2 ios6 and new latest generation Apple TV to run Sky Go.

The Apple TV setup is very neat and tidy, if a pain in the ass/laborious to get set up initially. Took me ages to find out how to switch on mirorring, it is not detailed in the instructions.

Please offer any advice in baby steps as I am an older fogie, but willing to learn!

    Cheers

    Peter

Sky Go doesn't work with Apple TV, I'm afraid.

Mirroring is not absolutely necessary: most of the time an Airplay icon appears when an Apple TV is present and all other conditions have been satisfied.

To view your iPad on your TV of course requires mirroring as do some (silly) apps such as ITV Player.

Tut tut, perish the thought! I have already had one slap today for talking about VPNs and foreign tv players on this forum!

Well, all TV players have their quirks. Many of them require mirroring to appear on your big screen which is very annoying, whereas web apps such as aertv.ie simply don't and "just work".

Then again, apps I use such as MyTF1 and FranceTV Pluzz allow nothing more than the sound be transmitted. Video AirPlay and mirroring is totally defeated.
