What's the best option to get free channels with a satellite in Dublin?
Was looking at a freesat box but would like one that plays USB videos

The sky box should have all the free view channels

No it doesn't when I try to view channel 4 or any of the free channels it is asking for the card. I read that you can buy a freeview card but I am thinking of a HD freeview box with USB
The tv in the apartment is a 50" Samsung without USB so can't watch the downloaded media

There's a thread on here for tuning in the free channels through the add channel option, that will work

Firstly a Sky box will not play media.

Personally my recommendation is to use a PC or laptop connected to the TV. Many laptops have HDMI or many TVs have a VGA (PC) monitor input. This will allow all types of files to be played.

Some satellite boxes will play media files (mostly those that have external hard drive). Some can play using an ethernet (network connection) to a shared hard drive on a Network (NAS)

Some boxes can play a stream sent from a PC located elsewhere but I have never done it.

However most boxes can only play some file types. Depending on where your films come from it won't play every one. Using a PC and software like VLC will play 99.9% of files.

If you want 7 day guide on Satellite and media playing consider the Walker 95 sat. It has 7 day guide and at least some playback ability:
