    I've recently switched from JA to BTEA,I live with my boyfriend so we have been receiving the reduced rate of 156.40 for the Summer.Today I noticed that, since I have switched back to BTEA, I am still only getting 156.40 every week.I thought BTEA was a standard rate and that I should be getting 188.My boyfriend is also on BTEA and he hasn't really checked properly but he's pretty sure he's been getting 188.I was just wondering if anyone knows any reason why I am not getting the 188 before I go in to ask them about it.

    If your doing a level 8 course as opposed to a level 5/6 I think these are taking longer to process. There are alot of people on here in the last few days saying they are still waiting to receive the BTEA allowance instead of their JA. The standard rate is €188 for everyone so that has to be the most logical reason.

    Thanks for your reply.I was approved weeks ago and my money has been going into my bank account since then.That is how I only noticed today that it wasn't the right amount.In fact,my boyfriend was approved about a week after me and his seems to be fine.

    Yes alot of people have been approved but not processed though but that might not be the case with you. Have a look at this thread:
