Work Experience

I'm just wondering for your opinion on this one really. I'm 16 and in TY and would be interested in work experience in this field. I'm particularly interested in ATC, I would like to fly when I finish schooling but truthfully some of the stories would put you off it.. either way I've plenty of time to decide.

My problem is that I'm finding it really hard to find work experience, and truthfully this is what I'm interested in. I've written to City jet and Air long us, and they said no, and to the IAA. I never received a reply from them, so I called and the person in the office in d'oiler street said that they were full, nevertheless I sent it directly to Dublin tower so I'll call and ask.

What I'm wondering is, is it completely unreasonable to expect to get any of these? I've heard of people being taken into all of these, and truthfully I'm most annoyed about the IAA because most people wouldn't think of it, it's a niche market but I'm interested  Finally, would there be any other third parties based in Dublin I could try? Thanks!

When I was in TY I did a week in the air traffic control center in Smithstown in Shannon. They brought me over to the tower for a day as well....So its defo possible to get something with them!!
The thing is its boring as fu*k!! There isn't exactly anything I could do there only sit with a pair of headphones on all day listening to conversations between atc and pilots! Interesting on the first day but gets very repetitive!!

A girl I went to school with, her dad was fairly high up in the centre in Shannon so he got me in there, but I would imagine if I could do it then there should be no reason anyone else couldn't do it!!
