Thinking of putting in calf heifers in around the end of next week. They are not short of grass but it is just to free up more grass for other cattle. Will be able to put the heifers on 2-3kg meal for a few months, they won't be calving till end of Feb.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Had cows and calves in from mid June, weaned the calves off them in Mid July and let calves out but cows remained in, cows went onto rented pasture at beginning of August and will remain there till December 1st.

Housed 20 cows with 20 bb calves last night and calves were weaned. Cows will remain in and get silage and straw. Calves will get out by the weekend and get a good bit of feeding before they are sold in 6 weeks time.

10+10 more to house tonight. Calves will get back out though.

10+10 more to house at weekend with calves once again getting out after a few days.

Have grass but the ground just isn't fit to carry the cows.
