    Hi all,
Just want some friendly advice regarding dating in general. I met a guy a year and half ago and we dated for a little while and then it fizzled out given we both just came out of relationships etc. Get to today we met up again went on two dates and last night he stayed over. It was a relaxed evening and then drama hit. First he was unsettled couldn’t sleep beside me and then woke me up and asked could he move into the next room and I was fine about it as It was taking me a while to settle beside someone too. It’s been a while!! I was a little cranky been woken up as I was very tired. I think he was surprised!!

Well a kiss on the cheek and he bolts out the door the next morning and said he didn’t sleep great. He looked cranky. No ring you later!!!
Given he did not sleep beside me and bolted I got the picture but I did text him and ask him what was with the fast exit. We are both adults if it was just a one nighter be adult about it at least. However, I didn’t get that impression before last night…
He did text back ‘ did you want to come with me stop nagging its not cool’. I was not happy with this response and left it at that. Very egotistic of him and pulling the nagging card!! Given hes probably cranky with lack of sleep I don’t think that was a nice way to talk to a girl you spent an evening with.

I suppose I want to know am I being unreasonable. Is it weird he couldn’t sleep beside me and am I asking too much from this guy like am I being impatient. The whole dating thing is scary to me I’ve had a bad experience and I’m trying not to allow this to ruin future ones. I have made myself clear I’m not into one nighter I want to get to know someone better and take it from there. Maybe we fell back into the old routine too quick…….
Any advice would be great to hear….

It's not weird that he couldn't sleep beside you.

His response to your text was a bit off alright, but it sounds like your text was in a similr tone really. I think most people would be wondering what the story was after what you described. It's probably best to try to put someone at ease before talking about stuff like that though. You probably came across as more confrontational than you intended because you sent it in a text message too I reckon.

It is strange sleeping with someone new but, for me, to wake you and ask to sleep in the other room is even stranger!! I could understand it a bit if he had plans for the next day that required an early start so needed a good night sleep. Having said that if he did have an early start planned I'd imagine it would have been mentioned the previous night. As you've stated you made it clear your not a one nighter so sounds like he freaked out alittle, maybe things moving too fast. And his reply sounds like someone freaked out and defensive.

I must admit I'd be thinking he has a girlfriend...

Thanks for the responses. I've called a day on it. He wasn't the nice guy he lead me to believe. I was texting him today and a few things came up that was a bit strange to me. I think there are a few issues there and he was just looking for someone to make him feel better about himself. Hes probabaly a fulltime bachelor!! I suppose I would have figured that out if I took things that bit slower. Well I'm putting it down to experience. Not the best feeling in the world but it will pass in a couple of days.
I believe now its weird when someone is not able to sleep beside you and just be relaxed the next morning.....

Thanks for all the replies very much appreciated.

He gives me the impression that he is just not interested in further dates with you because if he was he would have been a bit nicer to you. Don't give him another thought, you deserve better than him. Dont try to analyze this any further, forget about him.
