i have oil heating in the house, all the rads bar one are working fine. The one that isnt working properly is half hot (?) The bottom half of the rad is hot while the top half is lukewarm to warm at best.
    Any ideas?
i have opened the little white plastic "thing" on the side to bleed out some of the water, but no difference. How long/ how much do you let out ?
I hope someone can be of help !!

( im not a plumber, in case you hadnt guessed with my descriptions) :)

    air in your radiatior

you need a key to open the vent , a small square thing hidden from view on the top of the radiator

One of the two rad valves has a small cap, remove it, and open the valve about 1/4 turn anti clockwise with a pliers, see if it improves things.

the one u get water from is vent so u know rad is full.the radiator valves are usually each side of rad at bottom.turn anti clockwise to open.one side u may not be able to turn without pulling white cap off and using small adjustable spanner or similar to open maybe one full turn and see if it makes a difference.sounds like one valve is off

You'll hear the air hissing out in a constant hiss, like hissssssssssssss..., then after a while it'll sound like it's spitting, like thip, thip, thip, thip really fast. That's when you close the valve.
