Baines might be a risky one, so I'm going with Van Persie.

RVP currently but sorely tempted by Baines.

Couple of tasty options this week!

Armband is on RVP at the moment but still unsure as fancy Fletcher, Ba and Baines to all have a good game this weekend!

Baines for me,might get a clean sheet and score a goal and against southhamton could very easy happen!

If I knew Tevez was going to play for best part of the game I would be tempted with him but I think baines is my captain!

The problem there is, Southampton scored against Arsenal, City and United, amongst others. Only the mighty Wigan have held them scoreless. And Southampton will be in good spirits after their first win.

Which is why I'll try and do the sensible thing and avoid captaining him.

Was tempted to get Fletcher in and captain him but just don't think i can do it. Only has 5 or 6 shots and has 4 goals from them. No way he can continue that strike rate. Sunderland only have 9 shots on target so far this season and nobody else has scored. I'm always fearful of catching a player after they've had a run of games with goals. Especially in a team that doesn't seem to be creating much chances.

    Debating Pineaar or RVP.

Good point re Southampton scoring but I think it is better thinking of Baines as a set piece taker with the added potential of getting a clean sheet. Everton will be aggressive for the win here. Baines captain for me.

Good point on Fletcher stats and Sunderland have looked to be lacking in creativity/possession. However they have taken the lead early in last two games (through Fletcher) and O' Neills negativity is the main reason their stats are so poor, he was going for 1-0 win in both games.

At home this week we should see a more attacking Sunderland, but Fletcher is not captain material for me yet until Sunderland start showing convincing form. Have to say I am suprised by poll.

RVP is another is safe bet but Man u have not convinced me either, and although they have a great history against spurs @ home this could be a low scoring affair with RVP possibly getting nothing.

Thinking Pienaar 1 goal/3 assists in 5 games and at home to Southampton. Fletcher is next in line as Cazorla, Tevez, Torres have tough games

Suarez scored a hatrick against Norwich last year, anyone think he would be worth while.

No,the phrase "The sun shines on a dogs arse sometimes" springs to mind with Suarez.

He has the potential to score a hatrick every time he plays, any side, (how many just overs, just wide, off the post or crossbar have we seen) the problem is there is just no way of knowing when he will... He just as likley to get 15pts as he is 2... You may be lucky and capt him on just the right week, but to keep him in your side is crazy IMO...

Ha, yeah absolutely. Number 1, he isn't a good FF pick, despite some good hauls now and again. Number 2, he plays for the most overvalued team in the league and number 3 he's a scumbag

I'm definitely going to capt VP...

*but Ba is on fire at the moment*
*but RVP has consistantly scored when he starts*
*Newcastle have potentially the easier game*

i'd considered Baines but S'hampton are a very attack minded team, scoring in 4/5, including x2 against each of the Manchester clubs, so i'm not willing to risk it. Have it on Fletch atm and VP vice but i'm not sure, i even have Bent H to WBA as another option

this could be a big week for the captain choice.

so many potential big scorers, so if your pick doesn't do the business, the likelihood is, someone else's pick will.
