Is there anyway to extend a dealer/manufacturers warranty by a few years?

This for a 2 year old, low mileage car.

    Probably. Ask the supplying dealer.

Tried that but no joy. I would have thought that as Renault will give you a 5 year warranty on a new car that extending the standard 3 years would be no problem on a 2 year old car...

The likes of Mapfre offer extended warranties, might not be cheap though and more like an insurance policy.

That's exactly what it is. Risk is pooled. You win with some and lose with others.

Wear and tear excluded and you need to get everything diagnosed first before they decide if it's covered. Really really hard to get them to pay.

    So Mapfre best avoided then?
