    So i have a couple of options

    I want to get an iPad 3 for my daughter for Xmas. 32gb wifi only

    Should I?

    Get my mate to bring home a brand new one from USA? Approx 479

    Buy a refurb on apple Ireland for 529

    Buy one second hand off adverts?

    Is your warranty still covered if you buy in the states for use in Ireland? I know the plug is different, we have a few plugs and chargers In the house already?

    Anything else I should know before buying?

    Thanks in advance

    Is there much of a saving at present with the exchange rate plus local taxes (which are not displayed on the apple US site btw).

    How much is it here compared to US price plus taxes plus conversion plus hassle of getting it home in one piece plus risk of customs hittin your friend for charges?

    Once its cheaper, then go for it, i would.

    Edit :

    US = $599 + taxes = Approx $650 = €510 (using todays XE rate)
    IRL = €579 delivered.

    nice saving once your mate doesnt mind, and carries it safely.
