Looking around for a garden ornament. Was hoping to find someoen or club that might have crashed damaged aircraft that they want rid off.

I was looking for something fit in garden to make ornament out off.

was thiking nose of light plane or full cockpit up towards the nose

anything concidered or if anyone knows where i can go for this stuff

Abbeyshrule, Midland Aviation, Dave Bruton might have something for you. They often receive crashed aircraft for repair or disposal. I remember a hangar full of bits at one stage.

But failing that, a visit to any airfield might produce something lying out in the bushes or in the back of the hangar. Many have an old Cessna or Rallye lying there in bits.

It was returned to the leasing company about 18 months ago, the engines were stripped off and it was left sitting on taxiway 7 in Shannon since then! I guess they decided it wouldn't be viable to get airworthy again! Either way it's scrapped! I have a few pics Ill try get up.....

Be aware that nothing is free!

You will need to pay for any part. You may think, because it is lying around an airfield it is worthless and Mr.Smith would be more than happy to just get rid of it. This is not the case.

In fact, Mr.Smith will charge you in the thousands for any significant aircraft/aircraft part.

However, something smaller like the prop, or something from the inside might only set you back a couple hundred!

Look on Ebay, even old, scrapped & crashed aircraft are big business..!

ya i was more hopign for free ish. like dont mind paying lad same value he get from metal scrap man but not going pay lad a profit to do his dirty removal work for him

Doubt you ll get any scrap fuselage and wing section complete for less than 1500. All the old rallyes are gone, we got two and have a scrap 182 but they were all paid for.

EI COZ is available for 1900, and EI DUV a smaller twin is 2500 at worth more as any Beechcraft skins are huge money. Handy thing to have a few broken airplanes.... Even if it is only for a Nav light lens or self tapper. Kinda hard to find in woodies...

ya very true, i know some aircraft as i see in work, make very high scrap value as the metal used is rare
